Calgary 88 (32 bars)

2nd and 3rd cpls step up on bars 27-28.

1-8 1st and 3rd cpls dance a figure 8 round 2nd and 4th cpls.
9-16 1st and 2nd cpls; 3rd and 4th cpls dance R hands across, left hands back.
17-24 1st cpl dance a figure 8 on own side, begin by coming in and down.
25-32 1st cpl cross R hand, cast 2 places, cross R hand, change I hand with 4th cpl.

Crossing the Line (32 bars)

1-8 1st, 2nd and 3rd cpls dance reels of three on the sides. To begin: 1st cpl dance downcrossing over to reel on opposite sides, 2nd cpl dance out and up, 3rd cpl dance in and up. At the end: 1st cpl dance in to join hands in promenade hold facing down., 2nd cpl dance out and up to first place, 3rd cple finish in place.
9-16 1st cpl, dancing together, dance a reel of three across the dance with 2nd cple. They begin by giving right shoulder to 2nd man.
17-20 1st cple dance down the middle between 3rd cple. Dropping right hands, they use left hands to cross over and cast up to second place on own sides.
21-24 1st cpl turn with the right hand once round and finish in second place on own sides facing out.
25-28 2nd and 3rd cpls petronella into the middle and set to partners. Meanwhile 1st man casts up and crosses between 2nd cpl while they set, and 1st woman casts off and crosses between 3rd cpl while they set.
29-30 2nd and 3rd cpls petronella into opposite sides while 1st cpl cast to second place on opposite sides.
30-32 Joining nearer hands, on the sides, 2nd, 1st and 3rd cpls set. The dance is now inverted–the bottom becomes the top and the dance is repeated in the Southern hemisphere. After six times through the dance, each couple has danced as lead cpl in each hemisphere.

Flowers of Edinburgh(32 bars)

1-6 1st woman cast off two places, crosses over and dances up behind men’s line to partner’s original position. Meanwhile 1st man follows and ances up the middle to his partner’s original position.
7-8 1st couple set.
9-14 Repeat bars 1-6, 1st man leading. 1st couple finish in original positions.
15-16 1st couple set.
17-24 1st couple lead down the middle and back.
25-32 1st and 2nd couples poussette.

Reel of the Royal Scots(32 bars)

1-2 1st and 2nd women turn left hand, 1st and 2nd men turn right hand, 1st couple finishing back to back.
3-4 2nd, 1st and 3rd cpls set as in double triangles.
5-6 1t and 3rd women turn right hand, 1st and 3rd men turn left hand to change places.
7-8 2nd, 3rd and 1st cpls set as in double triangles.
9-16 1st cpl, followed by 3rd cpl, dance up between 2nd cpl, cast off, dance down to 3rd place, cast up to 2nd place. 3rd cpl finish in original places.
17-24 1st cpl turn first corner right hand, pass right shoulder, turn second corner right hand, pass right shoulder crossing to second place.
25-32 2nd, 1st and 3rd cpls six hands round and back.

The Montgomeries’ Rant(32 bars)

1-8 1st cpl cross right hand, cast one place, cross left hand, 1st woman casts up, man casts down.
9-16 right shoulder reels of three across, 1st woman with 2nd cpl, man with 3rd cpl.
17-24 1st cpl,nearer hands joined, set to 2nd woman, change hands and set to 3rd man, veer left and set to 3rd woman, change hands and set to 2nd man.
25-30 Reels of three on sides, 1st cpl giving right shoulder to second corners to begin.
31-32 1st cpl cross to own sides in 2nd place.

The Highland Rambler (40 bars)

1-4 1st cpl dance intowards each other and cast off one place. 2nd cpl step up on bars 3-4.
5-8 1st and 3rd cpls dance right hands across. Note: at the end of bar 8, 1st woman does not make a turn before beginning left hands across.
9-12 2nd and 1st cpls dance left hands across; 1st cpl finish facing women’s side of the dance.
13-16 1st woman, followed by her partner, casts up round the 2nd woman and dances down the middle to finish between 3rd cpl. 1st man finishes between 2nd cpl. All face down.
17-24 All dance down the middle and, turning right about, all dance up. 1st cpl remain facing up on bar 24.
25-28 1st man, followed by his partner, casts off to second place on the women’s side and crosses to his own side. On bar 28, he pulls back his right shoulder to face his partner.
29-32 1st cpl turn with right hands once round, to finish in second place on own sides.
33-40 2nd, 1st and 3rd cpls dance 6 hands round and back.

The Irish Rover(32 bars)

1-4 1st cpl lead down, cast up round 3rd cpl.
5-8 1st woman right hands across with 2nd cpl, 1st man with 3rd cpl, finishing facing 1st corners.
9-16 Half reel of four with 1st corners, pass left shoulder into half reel of four with 2nd corners, 1st cpl turn left hands on bar 16 to enter.
17-24 reels of three across, 1st cpl giving left shoulder to 1st corner positions and finishing in 2nd place on own sides.

Fisherman’s Reel(32 bars)

1-8 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cpls circle round and back WHILE 5th cpl in center turn with right hand and back with left.
9-12 5th man with 2nd cpl, 5th lady with 4th cpl, three hands across (right hand).
13-16 5th cpl pass left shoulder, 5th man with 1st cpl, 5th lady with 3rd cpl, three hands across (left hand).
17-24 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cpls take promenade hold. 5th man reel of three with 1st and 2nd cpl (right should to second cpl) WHILE 5th lady dances a reel of three with 3rd and 4th cpls (right shoulder to 4th cpl). 5th cpl meet their partner in the center, facing 1st cpl and take promenade hold.
25-26 5th cpl change places with 1st cpl passing right shoulder.
27-28 1st cpl change places with 4th cpl passing right shoulders.
29-30 4th cpl change places with 3rd cpl passing right shoulder.
31-32 3rd cpl change places with 2nd cpl passing right shoulder. Dance is now repeated with a new 5th cpl.

Trip to Bavaria(32 bars)

1-2 1st copule and 4th couple cross over to opposite sides givng right hands while 2nd and 3rd cpls dance right hands across half way (to opposite sides)
2-4 1st and 3rd men, 1st and 3rd ladies, change places giving left hands while 2nd and 4th ladies do the same.
5-16 Repeate bars 1-4 three times, to places.
17-20 1st cpl set to 2nd cpl, 1st cpl cross over to opposite side to face 3rd cple, 2nd cpl having danced up on place.
21-28 1st couple repeat these 4 bars to 4th place
29-32 2nd, 3rd and 4th cpls advance and retire while 1st cple advance, turn to own sides (both hands) and retire.

Shiftin’ Bobbins(32 bars–4 cpl set)

1-2 1st cpl cross giving right hands, moving down the set to finish back to babk facing 2nd cpls place on wrong side. 2nd cpl step up.
3-4 Giving hands as in Double Triangles, 1st, 2nd and 3rd cpls set.
5-8 1st cpl dance out on wrong side and cast up, meet, give nearer hands, and dance down to 2nd place.
9-12 1st lady with 2nd and 3rd men dance right hands across, while 1st man with 2nd and 3rd ladies dance left hands across.
13-16 1st cpl meet and, giving right hands, lead down center followed by 2nd and 3rd cpls.
17-24 All turn and 3rd cpouple lead back, casting off so all dance hands across with the opposite hand. 2nd cpl facing up.
25-28 1st cple, giving inside hands, lead up and cast off to 2nd place on wrong side.
29-32 1st cple dance half a figure of eight round 2nd cpl, to finish in 2nd place. (Dance is then repeated from 2nd place)

The Shetland Fiddler(32 bars–4 cpl set)

1-4 1st cpl dance 4 bars of Petronella while second cpl step up then set on bars 3-4.
5-8 1st and 2nd cpls dance 4 hands across once round. 1st cpl curve round on bar 8 to finish, 1st man facing 2nd woman, 1st woman facing 2nd man, ready to dance a reel of four.
9-16 1st and 2nd cpls reel of four across the set. At the end 1st cpl pass by the right shoulder to finish facingopposite sides.
17-18 First man turns 3rd woman by the right hand while 1st woman turns 3rd man by the left hand. First cpl finish in 3rd place on opposite sides while third cpl finish up one place havingmade a polite turn.
19-20 First cpl dance round each other passing left shoulder to finish facing opposite sides.
21-22 1st man turns 4th woman by the right hand whild 1st woman turns 4th man by the left hand. 1st cpl finish at the bottom on opposite sides while 4th cpl finish up on place having made a polite turn.
23-24 1st cpl cross to own sides giving the right hand and finish facing out.
25-32 4th and 1st cpls dance a double figure of eight across the set. (The dancer dancing across and down from the women’s side has precedence, i.e., 4th woman, 1st woman, 4th man then 1st man.)

The Falls of Roagie(32 bars–3 couple set)

1-4 1st cpl cross giving right hands and cast off one place, 2nd cple moving up on bars 3-4.
5-8 1st cpl cross giving right hands and cast to the right (1st man up, 1st lady down), 1st lady ends facing 3rd man, 1st man facing 2nd lady.
9-12 1st man with 2nd cpl, 1st lady with 3rd cpl, dance half reel of three across, passing left shoulder to begin, and end three and three across.
13-16 All join hands and set once, then cross giving right hand to opposite person, and face clockwise.
17-24 Three cpls dance round in a circle (follow my leader), 2nd and 3rd cpls dance all the way round for 8 bars, while 1st cpl dance halfway (4 bars) then turn each other 1 1/4 times with the right hand, to end facing 1st corner positions.
25-28 1st cpl dance half diagonal reel of four with 1st corners, finishing by passing right shoulders to face 2nd corner positions.
29-32 1st cpl dance half diagonal reel of four with 2nd corners, passing right shoulders to finish in 2nd place on own side. (Repeat dance, having passed a couple.)

A Reel for Jeannie(32 bars)

1-8 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cpls dance eight hands round and back to finish on the sides.
9-16 1st cpl, with both hands joined, slip down the middle and up.
17-24 1st cpl, followed by 2nd, 3rd and 4th cpls, cast off to fourth place. 1st cpl, with both hands joined, form an arch. 2nd cpl, followed by 3rd and 4th cpls, giving nearer hands, dance through the arch and up the middle to finish in the order 2, 3, 4, 1.
25-28 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 1st cpls clap (8 claps)
29-32 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 1st cpls turn partner with the right hand once round. (Repeat dance with new top cpl)
