1-4 1st cpl turn R hands, cast off one place;2nd cpl step up.

Tae Fife and Back

1-8 1st and 2nd women (also 3rd and 4th men) advance and retire; cross over the set passing partners by the left shoulder and cast, women down and men up, to change places. First woman follows second woman and fourth man follows third man.
9-16 Similar to bars 1-8. 1st and 2nd men (also 3rd and 4th women)advance and retire; cross over the set passing the person opposite by the right shoulder and cast, men down and women up, to change places. Order now 3,4,1,2, all on opposite sides.
17-24 All set, circle to the left halfway, set.
25-32 1st cpl (now in 2nd place), 4th and 3rd cpls turn once round with R hands to finish in the center facing up; 1st cpl, followed by 4th and 3rd cpls, dance up between 2nd cpl at the top and cast off to finish in the order 2,3,4,1. Repeat from new positions.
Note: At the end of bar 2, 2nd woman and 3rd man should touch L hands briefly before retiring. Similiarly at the end of bar 10, 2nd man and 3rd woman should touch R hands briefly.

Whistler’s Jig(32 bars)

1-8 Solo rights and lefts for 1st man. 1st man ends in original place facing out.
9-16 Cpls 1 and 2 dance a Ladies’ Chain.
17-20 1st lady dances solo half rights and lefts.
21-24 Cpls 1 and 2 turn partner right hand ending in the middle ready for poussette.
25-32 Cpls 1 and 2 dance a poussette to change places. Dance is repeated twice for each couple.

The Wild Geese

1-4 1st and 3rd cpls advance setting, all join hands and set.
5-8 1st cpl turn R hand and cast off to 3rd place; 3rd cpl turn R hand and lead upto 1st place.
9-16 1st and 3rd cpls repeat bars 1-8 from new positions.
17-24 1st cpl lead down the middle and up to finish in 2nd place. 2nd cpl step up.
25-32 1st and 2nd cpls rights and lefts.

The White Heather Jig

1-8 1st cpl turn R hand, cast off one place (2nd cpl step up), turn L hand 1 1/2 times to finish between 2nd cpl, man facing 2nd woman, woman facing 2nd man.
9-16 1st and 2nd cpls reel of four across the dance, 1st cpl finish facing 1st corners.
17-24 1st cpl turn 1st corner R hand, partner L hand, 2nd corner R hand, partner L hand to finish back to back between 3rd cpl.
25-32 1st and 3rd cpls reel of four across the dance, 3rd cpl finish in 2nd place, 1st cpl meet in the middle between 3rd and 4th cpls.
33-40 1st cpl turn L hand, cast off one place (45h cpl step up) and turn R hand.

The Dundee City Police Jig

Chord The 1st cpl turn and face out on the chord and join nearer hand with the 2nd cpl.
1-4 1st and 2nd cpls set, the ladies turn right hand to change places and the men turn eft hand, second couple remain facing out.
5-8 First cpl dance a half figure of eight round the 2nd cpl, crossing up between them to start.
9-14 2nd, 1st and 3rd cpls dance reels of three on the sides. 1st cpl dancing down between 3rd to commence. 2nd cpl and 3rd cpls finish facing out.
15-16 1st man and 3rd lady turn left hand to change places while their partners turn right hands to chane places. 2nd and 3rd cpls join nearer hands as also do 1st and 4th cpls.
17-18 2nd, 3rd, 1st and 4th cpls balance in line.
19-20 2nd and 3rd cpls turn to change places, 1st and 4th do the same; right hand on the ladies’ side and left hand on the mens’ side.
21-24 2nd cpl have now started dancing their turn as leading cpl and continue as in bars 5-8 above, meanwhile the original 1st cpl cross over givng right hand and cast off into fifth place on own side.
25-32 The original first cpl and the original 5th cpl dance rights and lefts; while the other 3 cpls are reeling and turning as described in bars 9-16 above.The original 3rd cpl commences on bar 33, by balancing in line as at bars 17-18 above. The original 4th cpl commencing on bar 49 similarly and the original 5th cpl on bar 65. When reaching the top the orginal 1st and 2nd cpls stop and do not join in the balance in line with the others on bars 81-82. This allows the original 5th cpl to dance the last 16 bars and all finish in original places on bar 96.

The dance is thus a 32 bar dance for 5 cpls with a new cpl commencing every 16 bars, to complete the whole dance in 96 bars.

Den O’Mains(32 bars–4 cpl set)

1-4 1st,2nd and 3rd cpls turn right hand.
5-8 1st cpl set and cast, 2nd cpl step up, meet to face 2nd woman, taking promenande hold.
9-16 1st cpl, 2nd woman and 3rd man diagonal reel of three, right shoulder to 2nd woman.
17-24 1st cpl, 2nd man, 3rd woman diagonal reel of three, left shoulder to 2nd man. Then 1st man present partner to 2nd woman and 3rd woman, and faces 2nd man and 3rd man, ready for
25-32 Double triangles.
